78% of travel agencies in the United States by a decline in revenue

The crisis is not passed by the tourism sector in the United States. 63.6 percent of agencies indicated that the decreased number of tourists served by them.

Under ATSA, the American Association of Travel Agencies, 78% of travel agencies surveyed responded that there was a decline in their revenues and 75% reported fewer transactions effected by them. Fewer tourists in the first half of 2009 have serviced 63.6% of the agencies. Most of the crisis affected firms specialized in business tourism.

To cope with the effects of the crisis, 76 percent of the respondents have limited costs, and 54% had recourse to a reduction in wages.
