Nahanni National Park is a reserve in Dehcho area, the Northwest territories of Canada. A main element of the park is the Nahanni river.
The name Nahanni comes from the Dene language which means “spirit”.
One of the sights to see at the Nahanni National Park is the Virginia Falls, which is more two times higher than the Niagara Falls. In the centre of the falls is a resistant rock called Mason’s Rock.
Several rare orchid species can be seen at the area around the falls.
Aside from the falls, there are other things to see in the river such as Figure Eight, George’s Riffle, and Lafferty’s Riffle.
The Nahanni’s sulphur hot springs , mountain ranges, forests and alpine tundra are home to many species of birds, fish and mammals.
This place to visit is situated within three of Canada’s ecozones – Taiga Cordillera, Taiga Plains and Boreal Cordillera.
It is definatelly place for relaxation, especially if you like to go there on vacation with a tent
